RAM IS NOW ACCEPTING 2017 EUROPEAN PERFORMANCE OFFERS FOR THE JORDAN PATTERSON BAND
RAM was established in 1986 and have worked with countless International Blues, Rock and Pop artists over that time, including Steve Cropper, Fotheringay, Nazareth, The Troggs, The Yardbirds, The Zombies and Fairport Convention.
“…It’s electrified, funkified, and modernized, yet still true-blue blues…”
(Critic’s Choice: Music – Baltimore Weekly U.S.A)
“Blessed with a voice that many performers would die for, Patterson has the wit and personality that guarantee him success. This man is a class performer and a major star in the making.” (Blueprint Magazine,UK)
It’s been two decades since Canadian blues vocalist and harmonica player Jordan Patterson released his 1996 debut album, Give Me a Chance. At the time, Patterson was well on his way to establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with within the International Blues scene, having amassed a fan base through relentless touring and sharing stages with some of the genre’s most prominent legends. Then, with his career still on the rise, Patterson suddenly decided to pack it all in. Now, following an extended hiatus, Patterson is picking up where he left off and releasing his long-anticipated sophomore album, The Back on Track Recording Project.
"Undoubtedly Jordan Patterson’s voice has been blessed by God. … an amazing singer gifted with a great technique and an exquisite tasteful vocal quality". (Le Hora del Blues, Spain)
“…Promoters take note; Jordan Patterson is back! I saw Patterson perform at the Tremblant International Blues Festival and was blown away by his original songs…soulful vocals, and a harmonica style born of blues masters, but thoroughly contemporised into an individual artistic expression”. (Art Tipaldi, Blues Music Magazine, USA)
After a decade and a half behind the scenes, Patterson was inspired by a friend who told him, “Y’know Jordan, one of these days you’re going to have to prove that your first album wasn’t just a fluke.” He resumed playing live in 2014 and released the EP version of The Back on Track Recording Project that same year. The singer-harpist then turned EP into a ten-song full-length version of The Back on Track Recording Project, released on February 19, 2016, with distribution through Fontana North.
Patterson has performed at notable music festivals, at home and abroad including the Tampa Bay Blues Festival, Trois Rivieres Blues Festival, Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, the UK’s Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival, Burnley National Blues Festival, the London Blues Festival, Helsinki, Finland’s April Jazz Festival and many more. Patterson has also performed at venues throughout North America and Europe with some of the music industry’s true legends, including James Brown, Barbara Morrison, Carlos Santana, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Mick Fleetwood, Robert Cray, Son Seals, Savoy Brown and Texas bluesman, U.P. Wilson, with whom he recorded the album ‘Whirlwind’.
In 1996, Patterson released his debut album ‘Give Me a Chance’ with The D.C. Hurricane. The solid offering featured guest performances from blues legends Bobby Rush and Bobby Parker which led to the opportunity to record sessions for the BBC Musical Archives, which were broadcast all throughout the European continents; amassing him many more fans in the process.
The 2014 release of the The Back On Track Recording Project EP instantly raised Patterson’s profile within the International blues community with extensive airplay, including rotation on Sirius XM radio and the track ‘Don’t Take Me Down’ was featured on Elwood’s BluesMobile and selected as one of Elwood’s Blues Breakers. The EP featured in notable publications such as Blues Matters!, Living Blues, PopMatters, New Canadian Music and more
"There is just so much to love about this outfit that you realize they are what you have been looking for to listen to for so long… Quite a tough and gutsy feel that is obviously the hallmark of this outfit". (PBS 106.7, Melbourne, Australia)
The scorching LP features some truly world-class musicians handpicked for their individual excellence, which includes drummer Benjamin Rollo, bass player Mark McIntyre, Los Angeles based R&B/Soul Singer Skyler Jordan, and guitarists Shawn Kellerman, Darryl Romphf and Washington DC based Bobby Thompson. Produced by Romphf, it finds Patterson sounding every bit as fiery and impassioned as he did two decades ago. The band crank the fuzz on the rocking opener ‘Favourite Boy’, while the frontman shows off his finest harp wailing on the swaggering boogie of ‘She’s Cool’. Elsewhere, the melancholic ‘If You’d Help Me Please’ is an incendiary slow-burner full of searing solos and looming riffs, while ‘Can We Fall in Love Again’ is a sweetly romantic serenade that highlights the precision of Patterson’s soulful vocals. The stylistically eclectic album bears strong traces of funk and R&B while also harking back to Patterson’s early days as a hard rock aficionado, displaying the full breadth of the songwriter’s extensive musical experience.
“…Patterson has a gutsy, impassioned attitude …the results are powerful…”
(Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide, U.S.A.)
“ With this mix of rock & roll, soul and blues, Canadian blues man Jordan Patterson will undoubtedly attract the attention of every music lover and pique his interests... ” (Rootstime, Belgium)
