This highly anticipated Country album by the son of the ‘Godfather of British Rock n Roll’ - Lonnie Donegan - shows the raw, heartfelt emotion and energy of a truly brilliant singer/songwriter, featuring all original songs - ranging from pure Country to Country Rock.

This album was a long time in the making, but there is a true sense of the person that Peter – a new father - is inside, through these original songs. In a move that glances back at such seminal and hugely successful releases such as ‘Under A Blood Red Sky’ (U2, UK Number 2 in 1983) and The Honeydrippers’ ‘Volume 1’ (with Robert Plant - Number 4, Billboard 1984) ‘Superman’ is mini-album, featuring five tracks.

"It was a dream come true to finally make an album of my own compositions in the 'Home of Country Music', Nashville TN. The fun we had in the studio really comes out in these recordings."

The people involved in this album have worked with countless legendary artists, from Loretta Lynn to Van Morrison, from Randy Houser to Alison Krauss and they have shown that brilliance again here. In fact even the studio in which the album was recorded (Studio 19) has welcomed such diverse artists as Ringo Starr, Jimi Hendrix, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, George Clinton (Parliament/Funkadelic) and Alan Jackson, all of whom have cut major recordings there. The mastering was by Eric Conn at Independent Mastering Nashville. Eric has also worked with Trisha Yearwood, Kris Kristofferson, Garth Brooks, George Strait, JJ Cale, Dixie Chicks – and Mark Knopfler who recorded ‘Donegan’s Gone’ on his ‘Shangri-La’ album in tribute to Peter’s Dad.

The album was mixed by Mills Logan in Nashville who has also worked with Toby Keith, Joe Walsh, Luke Bryan, Taylor Swift, Lean Rimes, Travis Tritt, Lonestar and Rascal Flatts. He's a four- time ACM nominated Engineer of the Year and Emmy winner for best audio, Skyville Live 2016.

Almost inevitably, Peter Donegan has been performing since the age of five, given that the ‘Godfather of British Rock n Roll’, ‘King Of Skiffle’, the late Lonnie Donegan, is his father. Lonnie inspired every British Invasion band from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin. Even The White Stripes’ Jack White cites Lonnie as one of his major influences. All this runs through Peter's veins and is clearly evident in his live performances, as well as in the studio. Amongst Peters own admirers are Nora Guthrie (daughter of seminal folk musician, Woody Guthrie) Crystal Gayle and Billy Bragg. Primarily a singer/songwriter and piano player, Peter picked up the acoustic guitar after his Dad passed away in 2002 and taught himself to play the mandolin, harmonica, banjo and ukulele.

Peter was unintentionally born in London as his Dad Lonnie was still on tour when his mother (Lonnie's then Manager) went into labour early, although the family were actually living in California where it was intended that he would be born. Peter was raised in Lake Tahoe, California then between Orlando, Florida and Malaga, Spain where the family spent quite some time.

No surprise then, from all this, that Peter loves Country music so much and considers himself a true British-American hybrid.
