The Greig Taylor Band returns in 2026 with ‘Take a Left’ a bold, soulful, and fiercely authentic blues‑rock album that captures the grit, heart, and storytelling that have defined the Greig Taylor Band rise as one of Scotland’s most compelling modern blues -based rock ‘n roll bands. The album will be released worldwide on 12 April 2026.
‘There are a lot of imitators out there, Greig Taylor is NOT one of them! In the history of my music career few have impressed me like Greig Taylor. From our first time singing together I knew I had a soul brother!”- Earl Thomas
Recorded With a powerhouse line‑up of top‑tier musicians, including former Marianne Faithfull, Big Dish and current Countess of Fife guitarist Brian McFie, the sessions also draw on the deep groove and instinctive chemistry of ex-John Martyn drummer Dave Cantwell, original Zal Cleminson's Sin Dog's bassist Nelson McFarlane, and keyboardist Kenneth Clark. Take a Left blends raw blues energy with gospel fire, vintage Americana textures, and the emotional honesty that has become the GTB signature. The record explores crossroads, consequence, redemption, and those moments when a single choice sends life down a different road.
“Take a Left is about those turning‑point choices — the ones that define who you become,” says Taylor. “It’s the most personal record I’ve ever made, but it’s also the most fun we’ve had in the studio. The band is on fire.”
The album features standout tracks including the driving opener ‘Ain't Got You’, the gospel‑soaked ‘None of us are Free’, the stomping Fast Women & Slow Horses and epic take on the Lou Reed classic ‘Sally Can't Dance’. With soaring vocals, gritty guitar work, and a rhythm section built like granite, the record showcases a band at the height of its powers.
‘Greig Taylor channels the Howlin Wolf!’ - Paul Jones, BBC Radio 2
